charming and the dress is beautifully painted elegant simplicity $1800.

Maine carved folk art horse

with man driving sulky.  Early

4-1/2"D, could have been done

Dome top box, straw design inlaid in wood

of a two-masted scooner.  Inlaid designs are

on all four sides.  c. 1860-80.  English

19th century carved eagle in gold leaf.

Full-bodied rooster weathervane, cast

zinc with seam.  Much of its old paint

remains.  Late 19th century.  30-1/2" tall 22" wide.

Schrenschnitte of unusual subjects: kitty,

birds, knitting stand with knitting, etc.  In

period gold leaf frame. Victorian,  6-1/4"W

Full figure silhouette dated 1840 and signed by William Henry Brown, reputed to be the foremost silhouettist in American history. This is of the cut-and-paste variety with white highlights. It was once part of the historic Elizabeth L. Maurier collection started in the 19th century and added to up to 1925. It was subsequently owned by  Dr. Milton Grow of NJ, who was a scholar and collector of silhouettes. Click on image to see the words written on back of framed silhouette.

rattle, original frame, 1820-45.

Watercolor of adorable little girl holding poodle 

on leash.  It's signed bottom left corner Adolihy?

(can't read it). Water color is in gold leaf frame.

A stunning Black Hawk (Morgan) horse weathervane , full bodied copper with zinc head.  1880's.  Maker

unknown.  Retains a beautiful surface with

traces of a few bullet hole repairs.  26-1/2" wide,

18" high off stand.  Price upon request.

Great example of early stumpwork.  Deepest rounded flowers are almost 2" high.  At the top are two

birds (not easily seen in picture).  This is in an

octagonal shadowbox frame.    $650.

Stylized fruit done in mixed media on tin tray signed by

folk artist Peter Ompir, one of the painters important to

the development of contemporary American decorative

painting in the mid-20th century. approx 19" x 25" Slight

Small size hand-carved eagle wall hanging, back

shows signs of some age, probably 1940's. The

initials NLK on back of eagle are undoubtedly

those of the carver.  Paint is very good.  18" wide
